Crystal brings over a decade of experience serving private business owners in her prior career; building lasting relationships rooted in trust, transparency, and follow-through. She approaches every client relationship through a fiduciary lens, committed to putting their interests first and delivering thoughtful, comprehensive guidance across every facet of their financial lives.

As part of Andrew Johnsen’s veteran-led team at Waterloo Capital, Crystal leverages the full strength of the firm’s boutique platform, sophisticated investment capabilities, and advanced technology to deliver personalized strategies designed for long-term success. She is passionate about being the trusted advisor clients call when something needs to get done and done right.

Before transitioning into wealth management, Crystal spent nearly 13 years working alongside Fire Protection contractors across TX, AR, LA, KS, NE, IA, MO, and FL. As an account manager and sales representative, she negotiated on behalf of her clients and supported the success of their projects as if they were her own. “My customers’ trophies (projects) were my trophies. I took our service and quality to heart to perform as they needed for our joint success,” she shares.

Earlier in her career, Crystal served as a Property Manager at The Marketing Arm, acting as a liaison between AT&T and multiple professional and collegiate sports teams across the North Central region. She worked closely with corporate and local marketing teams to fully activate sponsorship assets, driving engagement and long-term brand impact through creative, outside-the-box thinking.

Crystal’s decision to join Waterloo Capital was intentional and deeply aligned with her values. “I worked with a career coach who led me through an invaluable process to filter and target exactly what I wanted to do and who I wanted to do it with. A process every professional should consider for true alignment,” Crystal explains. After a thoughtful career transition process, she sought a firm that was agile, forward-thinking, and committed to operating under a fiduciary standard. She found that alignment in Waterloo’s boutique culture combined with institutional-level sophistication.

Outside of work, Crystal stays connected to her Kansas roots as a lifelong Jayhawk and avid Chiefs and Royals fan. She enjoys pilates, skiing, golfing, pickleball, time on the water, and tending to her home landscaping and indoor plants. A devoted dog lover, she looks forward to welcoming another Boxer into her life soon. Crystal is committed to continuous learning and growth, both personally and professionally.
